i am tempted to try and fly a heli staright away but you are right, a sim would be much better start.
what do you think about reflex xtr, i have been trying to gather information about the sims and it seems that reflex xtr is getting the best reviews. the only issues i have noticed is the lack of a commander. i oont have my own radio and i dont think i want to buy a radio before i get a heli.

another question. the commander that comes with G3. is it compatible with reflex xtr or aerofly pro dulex??
