Default Can I learn to learn 3D on a Sim?

Hi, I have been in the hobby for about 20 years this spring and I am a little curious about some 3D manuevers. I am buying an electric pattern ship and I recently saw one that could hover, torque roll and do the harrier and transition into forward flight. I have Real Flight Gen 2 Deluxe and add on discs 1-3 can I set up a virtual plane that has the power and crontrol throws to do basic 3D manuevers? It can be glow powered I am primarily interested in pattern as I used to compete years back when I was young.

Which brings me to my second question I am going to buy a new 90 size pattern ship most likely and arf and I see that most new designs can fly both pattern and mild 3 Day. If anyone have any suggestions I would appreciate them. I do have a NIB Great Planes Venus that I am converting to Hacker powered electric with Lithium power. It should perform the basic manuevers and it will fly the complete beginning pattern so I might start with it and buy my 90 size composite ship later.
Thanks for reading and any help you can give me.
