Well, I decided to try the Cline. I already had one, so why not......
I called Bill at Cline again. He elaborated a little more on the remote needle with Cline Regualtor setup. As he instructed, I installed the Cline Regulator BETWEEN the output of the remote needle valve and the input nipple on the carburetor. The Engine backplate was tapped for pressure just above the cross braces intersection.
Results are outstanding so far.
Throttle response is noticeably quicker. Needle adjustment is much more sensitive and precise. I went from running about 2 turns open on high end to about 3/4 turns open !!! I leaned the low speed another 1/2 - 3/4 turns. I am getting a reliable 1750 rpm idle with instant throttle response after 45 seconds idle.
Top end only picked up about 50 - 75 rpm over previous readings.
I am now ready to install this engine in the Edge. Another couple of weeks and I will be ready to test flight. (busy schedule)
