Default RE: Ultra Stick build-a-long

It has been covered before, but to save a fella some trouble here it is again....Reinforce the landing gear block and surrounding balsa, or be prepared to end up with a belly landing. I greased my US60 in and just as it was settling in anddecelerating she hit a molehill rut and ripped thelanding gear right off and tore the balsa back past the wing mounting bolt block. It also helps if you mount the servos in the tail, but that is a personal call, I chose not to on the third one.

The US 60 is a great plane! I learened to fly on it, did a carrier landing with it, set it up for skis, tricycle landing gear, etc....I am now on my third one. I jus wish H9 would get rid of that awful covering so I can stop recovering it.... The pictures are L-R my first US60, the landing gear torn out, and then the second stick recovered. I would not reccomend a GMS engine, thats the .76 in the third pic. It acts as a paer wieght now. I never used the crow feature, although a fella has a video of it somewhere here on RCU..way cool!
