RE: Can I learn to learn 3D on a Sim?
Exactly Joe...
Respectfully... AFPD is eeeeeeeeons ahead of realflight G2 or G3 for 3D, there isnt even any comparison. I have tried all 3. G3 is unrealistically difficult and the stall characteristics are grossly OVER magnified.
Granted planes are somewhat less likely to stall in AFPD but they overall fly 95% the same as real life. Really a good 3D plane with a very light wing load is very hard to stall in real life anyway.
The advances I have made in just 2 months thanks to AFPD are staggering, and Im not talking about on the sim I talking in real life with real RC planes hovering, rolling harriers and well...all of it are 100% improved.
I can even do 1 roll rolling circles and loops, and all sorts of low altitude high alpha knife edge maneuvers that I would have never tried with a real plane before I got AFPD. My hand eye coordination is now 5 times what it was before just because I can "go for it" with AFPD and crash if I must to learn to do the hard stuff.
