RE: R/C Nobler Topflite Gold Edition
Yes I am landing on grass, and the grass is abnormally short due to the winter. I don't think the small wheels on the retracts would allow it to take off if the grass was normal for summer. Paved will be a non issue. The retracts have worked well with no problem.
I don't think I would put retracts on it to fly off of grass. It does look really cool to fly with the wheels up. The combat landing with high overfield power cut, drop gear and flaps for a spot landing also work nice.
I would recommend you set the CG at 4" from leading edge of wing. This makes the plane much more stable on the wheels and flies better. Jim
