Depends on the cub kit. There are many I would not suggest for anyone, they just don't fly right. Had a friend with a cub, he was a good pilot, but the plane was almost uncontrollable. Scared me from cubs for a long time.

The Goldberg cub could be used as a trainer any time! It is the best flying cub there is. I would not hesitate to teach on it. The Great planes is OK, but not quite as good. Some others are OK, but some are not. If you have to have a cub, make it a goldberg and you will be far ahead.

I agree that the LT 40 would be a better choice, or an eagle II or anything in that category. Much easier to learn on, but the GB cub would be a very trainable bird.
