Hi,
Excellent thread StephenT.
I'm new here. I recently converted the Modeltech Extra to electric also. I was really enjoying my GWS brushless Corsair but yearned for something larger that I could really learn precision flying on.
What a great airplane! Mine has the AXI 2820/10 with a Jeti 40 advance and a 9X6 prop. I only have about 15 flights so far and I have to get a meter but the guy who put her together for me said she's only drawing about 24 amps avg. Plenty of power for where I'm at at the moment. I'm using TP 3s/2100 and getting 8 to 10 minutes.
Altacom, I'm pretty sure that was your video I saw just after I ordered my plane and AXI and thought, now he's got the right idea.
This is a great plane for conversion. I've only flown foam up 'till now but from what I've read people that know says this is one perfect little airplane and I believe it. She really does retain energy coming in. Anyone tried another servo in the wing? This plane seems like a prime candidate for flaperons.
What have you guys flown before the Extra?
