Default RE: Ask Maarten DeMoor - Setting Up AFP(D) To The Max

hey Doc.

although your extra setup is prob the best ive come across. ive always felt its 1. overpowered and 2. too slow

ive been tinkering with the prop sizes and ive found with the same power from the engine, the 38x21 flies nicely (if the dimensions are a bit odd). ive never flown a giant scale plane but im guessing strait line speed will be quite fast at full power. so i ran few tests through each prop:
1. full power strait line speed. on this prop i get about 84mph.
2. vertical full power downline speed. i know you shouldnt be able to do this but i wanted over 100mph. i got about 110.
3. power in prophang. my thinking large scale planes use about 1/3 to 1/2 power and i got this on 1/3 power.
4. hover punch out. this is the only thing im struggling to be more realistic, as its very fast.

this IMO feels "nice" so i dont need full power for fast snpas with freestyle flying.
