I assembled a set last week. I CA'd the sides together, then took a Dremel and opened them up for the wheels. Once they were opened up, I ran CA along the glue joint. From there, I reinforced the inside of the joint with glass cloth.

On the outside you will have a ridge where the parts are joined. I used automotive spot putty to blend this in, and sanded it smooth.
