I've flown the LT40. Great plane for learning. It has a larger wing and can fly a little slower. Many others have successflully learned on the Alpha. I don't think you would go wrong with either. "Who's got the best deal?" is a better question in my opinion. Since I have never built either, more qualified opinions will follow.
