All I can remember is being eaten alive while learning to run my first Diesel, a McCoy .09. Ouch!

A dieselized Tartan is one of the most civilized motors that you will ever have the pleasure of operating. It's almost a non issue to get it up and running. I do recommend that you use the Tartan mix that Bob Davis sells as it cleans up the ignition a lot in these motors. You'll find the Tartan to be a real tractor of a motor and I wouldn't prop it for top RPM. Fuel consumption will amaze you at how frugal it really is. If you put a 16 oz tank in you'll be passing around the transmillter quite a lot just from the fatigue of flying so long.
