Hello all,
I've been losing sleep trying to figure out which 50cc to go with. This will be my first go around with gasoline engines and it looks like the DA 50 is going to be my choice. I have a few questions if somebody would like to tackle them. 1.) Is the ignition battery powered and if so what size battery are you going with? 2.) How long is the flight time on a single charge? 3.) How long do you break the engine in before you put it in the air? 4.) Do you run a 2 or 3 blade prop for noise reduction? 5.) Does a Pitts style muffler give more power and better noise reduction?. Thanks to anyone who can help me out with these questions.........Scooter
Good choice!
1 yes the ignition is battery powered, I am using 1650 NiMH packs
2 a long time, I have never needed to recharge at the field.
3 you set the needles "slightly" rich and fly it, no extended ground brake in required.
4 I have only used the DA recommended 22-8 menz-s
5 The stock DA exhaust is not really a muffler, just an exhaust diverter, it has no baffling. I am using the slimline pitts muffler and I don't find it loud. However canister and tunned pipes are rumored to be quieter.
