RE: dihedral
I prefer the idea of trying to fix it out ON the plane, another issue is that the lower the wing the more dihedral it will need to avoid coupling, thus, there was someone in a magazine that publish a super decathlon with ANHEDRAL to correct coupling (high wing), there are more factors but are more related to the tail instead of the wing.
So, you can find that in most cases the wing is in the thrust line or very near (to avoid calculating the exact amount of dihedral, and to have same characteristis upside or inverted) for 3D planes
