Never play with your toys on a windy day is the message I get from your post. I'm sure you already knew that. However, I get to the point where I have to have a flying fix also.

I built a Tensor toy and haven't had a "lo wind" day to get familiar with it, so I'm flying my .60 size toys. The UPS guy delivered my mini-Funtana today, and I will be trying to decide whether to install a small glow or an Axi outrunner electric. Chief has the mini in stock. Fantastic craftsmanship.
Spring in 4 days can't bring the warm weather soon enough for me. Sorry about your foamie baby.
