Default 2 Important lessons from a Foamie!

Well... I've learned a couple lessons flying foam 3D airplanes....

1. CA is really pretty amazing and strong stuff.....

and

2. It reinforces the Bhuddist mantra I learned travelling in Nepal regarding the impermanance of things.....

OK..maybe a third lesson....

Windy, and gusty days aren't the best days to practice tail touch hovering

Oooops..... strong gust... and my 3D foamy Extra was transformed from one really great flying, pretty plane....

to several pieces of foam....Oh well.....
Now, if this happened with my balsa planes I think I would be in tears, but since it is foam.... we will build a new one!

The meaning of my rambling.... foamies rock for plain and simple playing! (and they fly well too......)

UH-HUH
Never play with your toys on a windy day is the message I get from your post. I'm sure you already knew that. However, I get to the point where I have to have a flying fix also.

I built a Tensor toy and haven't had a "lo wind" day to get familiar with it, so I'm flying my .60 size toys. The UPS guy delivered my mini-Funtana today, and I will be trying to decide whether to install a small glow or an Axi outrunner electric. Chief has the mini in stock. Fantastic craftsmanship.
Spring in 4 days can't bring the warm weather soon enough for me. Sorry about your foamie baby.

Well...I have a Fan Fold replacement about 1/2 finished.....

It should hold me over until my next 3DFoamy.com plane gets here....

Levi, I hope your vacation is good, but I need a 3DF fix!

Yep. That's what they're best at....fun.

BTW, I have some good friends in Carleton. You guys have an abundance of open flat land down that way. Must be an RC fliers paradise.

Hmm...lessons learned with a foamy.

1. Even a brick will fly if you have a big enough brushless motor.
2. 60 degrees of control surface throw is NOT alot.
3. There is no such thing as an overpowered foamy.
4. UHU por glue is AWESOME.
5. Always check the CA bottle for "foam safe" before using.
6. Cheap Cheap...its not a bird...its a foamy.
7. Airfoil, whats that?
8. Foamies fly better with charged batteries.
9. NiCd's suck.
10. So does wind.
