Default RE: AMD Hawk.

Ok guys, there seems to be a lot of speculation running around in this thread. Here are the facts:

The JHH/AMD Hawk WAS designed by Larry Wolfe of JHH and manufactured by AMD under contract. During the course of production, AMD and the factory the Hawk was being made at for AMD split and AMD began production in their own factory supposedly to have taken the molds with them. Well while AMD began production in their factories, the other factory was back dooring copies of the Hawk without permission. There were continual QC issues that were present and we sent back quite a few rejected parts. Also, as more and more copies started surfacing, we decided to discountinue sales of the airplane. We have seen first hand that there are now no less than FOUR DIFFERENT FACTORIES selling copies of these Hawks with more seeming to pop up all the time. All of them that we have seen have had defects in the design aspects regardless of how well they are precieved to have been constructed. Additionally, quite a few of the deffective parts that were sent back to China seem to have found their way back into these copies. We took a considerable amount of time and effort inspecting each kit sold to ensure quality of the product and in many cases replaced defective parts as required. I can garauntee that these other companies are NOT doing that. When you consider that most of these internet shops list the airplane for use with a 4-cycle ducted fan engine, kind of makes you wonder, huh?

By the way, this is the short version of the story. I can fully document things further but find no value added in doing so here. These are the important facts that need to be known. Bottom line is these are all copies floating around and they have our name on them (yes, they even copied the box art!).

So, all I can say is BUYER BEWARE. We can not offer product support for any of these copies.
