I checked AL's Hobby web site and didn't see this gear package. I'm sure its just been too long. So, do you know of another place to get these gear or oleo's. They look awesome. Thanks in advance for you time.

The Wren being shorter suits my tank setup, it is a couple of ozs heavier but not noticeable, but I can get about a minute extra on the same fuel which helps as it was only about 5:30 minutes with the P60.
Wren 54/P60 will give you better choice later on if you decide on something else.
I am very happy with the setup I have now, weight, CG, flap angles etc, always now use first stage flap on takeoff, and the crow on landing with full flap is very good, and it has very good flying characteristics with no signs at all of dropping a wing even when I got one landing a bit slower than I had planned

What pipe are you using? Do you have any pitch changes with power changes? With my 12S set up the Hawk pitched a lot with power change. I was able to mix a large part of that out but the correct fix would have been to get the thrust line right.
I saw a tank at Jet-Tech built for the AMD Hawk. I think it was 55 oz which would be great for the Wren. The 12S set up give me a very short flight. 2:30 and into the pattern. On the deck not later than 3:00. But hey, at least my landing weight is the same as my take-off weight.
Even so, I have not experienced any wing dropping either.

I have not seen any pitch changes at all, sounds like you may have been a bit tail heavy.
I need to measure the pipe.
55ozs would help I only have 48oz plus the header, not much room to fit a tank in the AMD Hawk, and I don't think I would like it in the space in front of the ducts due to the CG change, where I have my two 24oz you don't notice anything as they empty.

Hye there,
Yesterday I`ve took a Will Hobby Hawk home which was lying in the shop for over 3 years due to transport damage.
I`m planning to repair the fuse and let this bird fly with a turbine.
Can someone in short tell me what modifications I must make to make it turbine safe?
I than can search this thread a little more specific, 27 pages is a lot to read [8D]

To make this model nice to fly it is important to keep it as light as possible. It will fly well on a MW44. It will need a push rod to operate the elevator and we had this sited beside the engine on the side of the fuslage. It needs a nice strong servo 10Kgcm.

Wire legs may not look so pretty but will save the wing structure with a less than perfect landing.
Dont have too much flap when landing, use crow braking if you can.
It seems all Hawks will drop a wing if flown near the stall point and if it does it close to the ground that may well be the end of the model. If the model is light you will have a more forgiving airframe. We flew with a gyro on ailerons making landings much more stable. We had 3 of them and flew them a lot.

Thanxs for the reply`s so far.
I will search for the servo mount modifications.
Will leave the max. flaps as per manual.
Engine? a MW44 will be very nice, as dealer for the Netherlands it also would be good for Wren
We will see, started with the wings for now, fuse will follow soon.

Fuselage almost repaired, the grey paint is filler so I can detect dents, niks and scratches better.
The final fuse will be in a lot better shap but will not be as new.
But what the hack, as it flies I`m happy

I see some are now even advertising a set with legs for the AMD hawk on ebay.

Mhhh, the first ersion struts are also delivered by HK.
But these retracts looks much better.

I have the same Hawk with the T-45 markings. I am using TamJets gear with breaks and a Wren 44 Gold. I have about 14 flights on it and love it. Make sure you add the wing fences. My first one did not have them and snapped on me when I was coming in a little slow. I have never seen a plane snap so quickly. I purchad the Navy T-45 decal sheet from SAPAC as they make a 100mm T-45 and the decals are the correct size for the AMD/Will Hobby T-45. I think I paid about $30 for the full set. See picture attached. Good luck with your build.

Yes the canopy is the wrong shape scale wise it should be much more higher and dolphin like.
What I done with mine was to lower the floor by cutting out a square from the floor and made a 1" deep box out of balsa which I painted black and put my pilot/seat in.
Unfortunately I just sold mine last week, so I cant take a pic, but I have a shot through the canopy, you can just see what I done, the rear one is a bit clearer as it has no pilot just the seat.
