Mine gears werent very smooth either even new. I may be wrong but the seem to have too much backlash out of the factory. That may be why some people have had problems. Mine seemed like the gears were barely contacting and there doesnt seem to be any wear. Im going to shim them alittle tighter and see what happens. Need to be carefull as too tight will knife edge the gears.
