One big advantage to the electronic ignition is easy hand starting. At slow rotation, the spark is at TDC, so no tendency to kick back and it does not take much rpm to get it started. With a magneto ignition, you need a faster spin across the magneto to generate a hot spark. The electronic ignition has a hot spark even at very low rpm.
