No updates, I'm just waiting for the snow to go!
I apologize for not posting the weights again. I can't find the scrap of paper that I used as a notepad. To weigh them again requires a bunch of bench clearing etc. I'll do it as soon as I get a another spare moment. The Mk-2 was ligfhter than the Mk-1
Eric.
Thanks to a rainy-day(3/20/2005) I was able to shuffle the planes around the garage and do the weighing again.
Quest-1
Fuselage 7lb 3.5 oz
Wing and belly pan 2 lb 3.5 ox
Total. 9 lb 7 oz. This is with a YS 14.0L, CD header, Hatori pipe and 9411 SA's in the wings. Bolly gear. Hyde 1.40 "A" mount.
Quest-2
Fuselage 6 lb 7.0 oz
Wing and pan 2lb 7.9 0z
Total 8 lb 14.9 oz. This is with YS 91, Perf Prod bend and muffler, 8321's in wings, Temptation gear, Hyde 1.10 "A" mount.
Both planes will go "vertical!" at these weights with these engines.
I think that a 1.20 FZ would give great perfromance and a perfect CG with QUEST-2.
Regards,
Eric.
P.S. A tip for you YS 110 users is to screw the transition screw in all of the way and set the idle with the regulator, just like to old FS's etc. This really helps the lean condidtion that some 1.10's experience. Good luck.
