Default RE: A GWS Motor!! What is it?

I have many of these motors. Basically, a 380 is the same as a speed 400 motor. These are brushed motors. Which is the reason you can buy 'em for less than $10. Just about all the 250, 370, 400, 480, 500, 550, 600 and 700 motors are manufactured by Mabuchi in Japan. If you look at a Graupner or a Permax motor, Mabuchi most likely made them.
However, brushless motors are much different in that they are more efficient and use much stronger magnets. But, they will cost up to 8 times the cost of a brushed motor. Example.....zagi flying wing, speed 400 motor, 20 amp esc and a 5.5x4 prop....power system
run ya $10 for the motor, 25 to 30 for esc. Brushless, a mega 16\15\4 turn will run $89. Then you need brushless esc which is about 79 bux itself. A brushless motor will also last 100's of times longer than a brushed motor and will give your plane the "zing" its lookin for!!!! Plus, you will experience a longer run time than you would if you had a brushed motor.
