Did you try changing the channel??

as Edge mentioned... I've always know channel 1 to be aileron and channel 3 to be throttle

and Chanel #5 to smell nice (sorry, feeble attempt at humor)



Oh, and it is pretty normal for the servos to go crazy if you turn the power to the RX on before the TX....
that is why it is normally safe and recommended to always turn your TX on first and turn it off last
