A G62 will give you plenty of power, however you will pay the price with weight. If you don't have the G62 yet get a BME 50 or ZDZ 50. They are light engine and put out almost the same power. There power is slightly less than the G62, but your plane is lighter! The BME 50 or ZDZ 50 will give you over 1.5:1 thrust to weight. Based on what I am seeing you need to keep this plane light so you have low wing loading! You don't want a lead sled that will go straight up but does not 3D well!

You are probably right. There may be a taper in the stab. i will have to take a look. I did not think of that.
