Default Wagstaff Extra 300

DMUCOP -

I have been having some trouble getting my Moki 2.10 really dialed in so my flying has been somewhat limited, but I can give you at least some basic flight info. Mine is balanced according to the manual.

Weight - ??. I don't have an accurate scale. Based on other planes, I would guess about 14.5 lbs.
Take-off - Requires very little rudder input. Scale take-offs at half throttle.
Landing - Settles in nicely. Nice glide rate. Slows down but doesn't drop like a brick when the throttle is chopped. Our field requires a fairly steep approach so I cut to idle at the end of my downwind leg and then just control descent as needed till touchdown. Landing gear can be just a little bit bouncy, but certainly not bad. Could be more the fault of my plane's pilot.
Tracking - Is what you expect from an Extra, goes where you point it and tracks well in IMAC-type maneuvers.
Stalls - Dips the nose but comes right out of it when power is added. No tendency to drop a wing (assuming it's been balanced laterally).
Rolls - Crisp and axial on both low and high rates.
Rudder authority - Very good. Easy to control rotation when doing things like hammerheads. My plane climbs slightly while doing a knife-edge at half throttle. Throw is set at the manual's low rate.
Elevator authority - Very good at low and high speed. Didn't snap-out of full-up loop on low rates. On high rates the elevator is sensitive, but the plane doesn't seem to be snappy. Haven't tried a full-up loop on high rates to see if it will snap. The last few flights I have been flying with high rates.
Aileron authority - Very responsive at low and high speed. The last few fights I have been flying with high rates. No differential programmed in.
Snaps - Very good. Maintains heading as long as rudder isn't held too long.
Spins - Very good. Rotation stops when the sticks are released. At least on my plane, I need more than the manual's recommended high-rate to get a flat flat-spin. Haven't done much to work on that yet. Will probably set it at about 1 1/4" elevator throw and try it.
Knife-edge - Some roll- and quite a bit of pitch-coupling. More than what I expected. I wouldn't call it bad, but it isn't like you just roll it on it's side while adding rudder and watch it go the length of the field. I haven't tried to program it out yet.
Dead-sticks - Have had one. Plane floats nicely.
3D - I'm not into that so can't comment.
Overall assessment - Very good flying airplane. Has the expected Extra performance, but doesn't raise your blood pressure when it's time to land.

Hope this helps.
