Yes, you are correct. But I ended up using a shorter allen head screw (cap screw? ) than on the picture. This is a very steady setup.
Chuck the manual away, and build it better

Hardly any of the hardware in this kit can be used......lots of stuff, that can be used for nothing
but it doesn`t matter much.
