Default RE: Hand Launch 40 size - any ideas?

I hand launch my .40 size profile 3D planes regularly. One of them actually was designed with a non-steerable tail wheel, so hand launch is expected. A good one to get is Accel Hobby Katana 40 profile. If you get good enough, you can hand catch it too. You need a plane that has a sturdy fuselage section above CG, so you can grip it securely before launch. So high-wing design is out-of-question. Goldberg Extreme 330 is good too. Goldberg Extreme 540 does not have enough fuselage handle area above CG to get a secure grip.

As the Accel Katana 40 is the lightest of the bunch, it will be adequately powered by Irvine 40 swinging APC 11x4 or APC 11.5x4.
