Default RE: Is this a good WH Edge setup?

However, my DA 50 has a tough time 3D'ing at that weight as the plane exhibits all of the bad traits of a heavy plane, harriers rock and it tries to fall out of a hover and can be a handfull.
Wing rock is caused by the rudder being blanked out during descent. Balancing laterally helps but the main fix is to move the h-stabs out of the way like on a Cap. It has little/nothing to do with weight. This is why they will do beautiful inverted harriers, the rudder is out in clear air.

As for hovering, what possible relationship can there be between hovering and wing loading? The plane is pointed straight up and hanging on the prop, you could take the wings off and still hover it. They serve to stabilize the plane in a hover but wing area is not very critical in this situation.

Weight <> power plays a large part, but not weight <> win area.
