300Sjack, the instruction manual for the Patty says finished weight to be 14.25 - 16.5lb (6500g -7500g). Eighteen (18) lb. is a little heavy with a lot more wing loading. Light planes fly better.

So the DA 50, I think, would be a better option -- especial when installing a smoke system.
