Default Wagstaff Extra 300

Originally I had a manual choke but decided to change to a servo controlled choke on my BME 50. Happy I did it. Now I have another way to shut off my engine in case of an emergency. The other way to shut off the engine is with the throttle cut off switch. I had the parts and this way was a lot less expensive that buying an fiber optical kill switch.

Here's how I did it. Choke servo on port (left) side of fuselage and throttle on starboard (right) side of fuselage. No problem routing the the Sullivan Gold-N-Rod #504 to the Prather control arm with set screw, across the fuselage, 24 inches away. You have to grind (Dremel) off the old linkage in order to install new control arm. I have a Futaba 9C transmitter and I'm using channel 5 for choke control. Set up switch G for servo control. Be careful if you use this switch because it has 3 positions. The retrofit took about two hours and half that time was waiting for the epoxy to set. Good luck. Russ
