Fighterbird, clubs do host fun flys where the public is welcome and there is a trainer with an instructor for interested people to try out. Our club does this and if it isn't a funfly event, say just a new guy out checking the hobby, we offer 3 standard 10 minute lessons for free even if you don't have a plane. After that if you want to continue flying at our field we expect you to join the club. I think this only fair.[8D]
