300Sjack are you talking about the 5 stringers in the nose? If so your Patty's nose will be plenty strong for the 3W. What does it weigh 8 onces more than the BME? The only reason the other Patty's nose broke off was because it hit a light pole first. If you make decent landings the nose modification is not necessary. I personally think the modification weakens the nose.

I checked and both engines the 3W48 twin and the 3W50 are about a pound heavier than the BME 50. You still should be fine but should have opted for the BME instead.
