I do the same as RCKen, but do not leave mine assembled during travel to and from the field. I use 1 #64 rubber band doubled, and then add a zip tie that I cut off after flying. I am sure the rubber band is enough, but once the zip tie is in place, I never even think about it again. To me the plane is more valuable than the cost of replacing the zip tie each time.
