Another Burrito
I am in the final stages of building my second Burrito. Burrito 1 is still in remarkably good shape despite my repeated attempts to re-kit it, but I fear its expiration date is drawing near. My fear is not due to the plane being in bad shape, but from knowing that my increased boldness will eventually catch up with me. My pathetically slow progress at becoming a 3D pilot is a lot to bare, even for a tough plane. The slowness of my progress is mostly due to my lack of natural ability, and part is due to the fact that I am the only one at my field into 3D planes. Most of the other guys have gone over to the dark side and are flying helis.
Now that I have a very basic grasp of hovering, poor Burrito 1 has had to endure repeated tail touches. It is amazing how something so simple can entertain me for so long. My banging of the rudder has yet to break anything or result in any death or destruction. I have had to replace the 2-56 rudder control rod a couple of times when it would get bent from my sometimes not so gentle touches, but the plane shows no signs of fatigue.
Attaching the control surfaces and installing the radio and engine are all that remains to be done on B2. I'll try to get some pictures up in the next couple of days. It has been a while since we have had a good Burrito thread, and I know there has to still be some Burrito pilots out there with some new pictures to share.
