Another Burrito

I am in the final stages of building my second Burrito. Burrito 1 is still in remarkably good shape despite my repeated attempts to re-kit it, but I fear its expiration date is drawing near. My fear is not due to the plane being in bad shape, but from knowing that my increased boldness will eventually catch up with me. My pathetically slow progress at becoming a 3D pilot is a lot to bare, even for a tough plane. The slowness of my progress is mostly due to my lack of natural ability, and part is due to the fact that I am the only one at my field into 3D planes. Most of the other guys have gone over to the dark side and are flying helis.
Now that I have a very basic grasp of hovering, poor Burrito 1 has had to endure repeated tail touches. It is amazing how something so simple can entertain me for so long. My banging of the rudder has yet to break anything or result in any death or destruction. I have had to replace the 2-56 rudder control rod a couple of times when it would get bent from my sometimes not so gentle touches, but the plane shows no signs of fatigue.
Attaching the control surfaces and installing the radio and engine are all that remains to be done on B2. I'll try to get some pictures up in the next couple of days. It has been a while since we have had a good Burrito thread, and I know there has to still be some Burrito pilots out there with some new pictures to share.

You're right, there has not been much Sledge talk. I'm not a profile marketing expert but it has to be a tough sell to get people to pay $110 for a kit when there are good ARFs out there for a few dollars more. I started scratch building a Sledge over a year ago, but stopped after I finished the wing. I need to finish it up. I want to either mount the servos for the rudder and elevator in the tail or use some type of control linkage other than the pull-pull that comes with the kit.
According to Morris' website, the Sledge kit is their #2 seller, right behind the Knife ARF. It sure looks like a Sledge ARF would be a hot item, especially if they could get the price in the $150 range.

I wish i had a burrito, ive got a few burrito kits but none of them have built themselves yet. The sledge is one of the best if not THE best .40 size 3D bird ever designed. Morris price may be a bit steep but it does come with some very nice hardware including Dubro fuel tank and nice wheels. I think every real 3D'er should have a sledge in their fleet. Its a very capable machine.

It may not be an award winning covering job, but it should be easy to tell the top from the bottom.
My receiver and battery pack came in, so I now have everything needed to get it in the air. I'm using Futaba 9001s on the ailerons, Hitec 635s on the elevator and rudder, and an 85BB on the throttle, 6V 720mAh NiMH battery pack, and a Hitec Super Slim Receiver.
My Burrito building got derailed by a mishap with my Kat 70. I re-plumbed the fuel tank and left the pick up line too long, causing a low altitude/no airspeed dead stick. As usual, the rough landing was more than the stock landing gear could support. Nothing major, but the tail wheel was ripped off and one of the elevator counter balances got tweaked a little. The Big Kat is now sporting a set of Teatherite gear.
Almost time to start on the Mojo I picked up at the Perry Swap Meet. By the time I finish it, OMP's 47" ARFs should be in, and surely by that time the Big Kat will be getting long in the tooth and I'll need a home for the Saito 100 - hmmm, maybe a Mojo 60. I need a bigger basement.
