RE: Need quick repair help
While you are at the LHS, you may ask them about a slot macine. They are resonably priced and make cutting CA hinge slots soooo easy, compared to using razor knifes. If you are serious about this hobby, you will be doing allot of hinges in your future.
Make sure you drill a one sixteenth hole in about a half inch in the middle of the hinge slot. This will allow the thin CA to wick all the way into the hinge cavity and you won't repeat what happened before. Some premade CA hinges have a slot in the middle of the hinge, if you get that type, forget about drilling the hole.
Good luck on your repair and happier landings next time.
