What's up guys. I very new to the hobby. I've Soled my Stripped down Hobbico Nextstar 6 times all with out incident. The seventh flight however. I cartwheeled it trying to land. No major damage just broke the wing mount out of the fuselage. I've already CAed and epoxied it back in no problem. The only other thing the crash wrecked is the elevator. It has three hinges and the one on the out side seperated from the wing to the control surface. The other two did not seperated. I tried to CA it back in. But I can't hardly get it to slide back into the wing. The one time I did get it to go back in it seemed like I could get it to go back in all the way. What should I do to fix this problem. I've got it back in there but the control surface is not up close to the wing like it used to be. Will It be O.k. to fly like this? Thanks for your help.

That's kinda what I was thinking. Where can you buy the little hinge piece's? There like little white plastic strips. Sorry if this is a dumb question. But I am a total noob.

one important note! do not try to rehinge them in the old hinge spot. The area of the old hinge has been hardened by the ca glue and will not adhere well to the new ca hinge. make sure you cut the slot next to the old hinges.

While you are at the LHS, you may ask them about a slot macine. They are resonably priced and make cutting CA hinge slots soooo easy, compared to using razor knifes. If you are serious about this hobby, you will be doing allot of hinges in your future.
Make sure you drill a one sixteenth hole in about a half inch in the middle of the hinge slot. This will allow the thin CA to wick all the way into the hinge cavity and you won't repeat what happened before. Some premade CA hinges have a slot in the middle of the hinge, if you get that type, forget about drilling the hole.
Good luck on your repair and happier landings next time.
