Well, after a couple of weeks of waiting for good flying weather, I was able to make my first flight this past weekend

What an awesome feeling!!
After a trim flight and a good test flight by my instructor, the LT40 was pronounced fit for flight and the switch was flipped to give control to the buddy box. I have to say I was a bit nervous, but was able to fly until the engine started to lean out from running out of fuel.
I am glad I spent all those hours on the simulator, I know it definitely helped me. The real thing was different, but I was able to adjust to the differences rather quickly. All in all my instructor and I spent about 4 hours flying and by the end of the session he had me doing figure eights and runway approaches (no landings or touch and goes) to get used to throtle control. We even managed to do a couple of flights in increasing wind (about 15 - 20 mph).
It was a great day! Hopefully we can continue that way, and who knows I may be able to solo in the near future.
Thank you all for such a great forum. I know I spent quite a bit of time here doing research before even buying a plane. I know it was time well spent!
