"I saw an update on that story in another forum, and the truth came out fairly recently, like the beginning of this year. The author himself came on the forum and answered the burning questions.

The cave IS real, it's called Interstate Cave in Utah. The author did indeed discover a small hole and a passage, and he widened it. The pictures and basis is real, but all the wierd supernatural stuff isn't. No blood-curdling screams, no weird rumbling sounds, nothing creepy.

Basically, the author discovered the hole, began widening it, and wrote it all down in his journal. He was going to embelish the story a little bit, but a little bit turned into a LOT. He worked on it for quite a while, long after he actually finished inside the cave. He then decided to put it on the web as a piece of fictional writing.

Me personally, I thought it was a very good story. The ending was a bit dissapointing, although it did indeed hold my attention to the very end"
