I'll need a place to stay, also LARRY[8D]. Have you tried those yellow lens sharpshooter glasses out? I did many years ago, and I liked them for AMA FAST. They make certain colors look vividly sharp. Your control program is what I like to go with, I just wish I was better at the "NO LOOK" dual rate switch fumbling. Was that a skill that the AIR FORCE had you guys work on?
I have a pair of those Sun Tigres and will hunt them up because the contrast was super. I had quit using them because I need those "special" glasses with the magic magnifying spot on the lens that allows older folks to actually put the fuel line on the needle body without asking for help.

The Air Force did have student pilots work on something like finding the dual rate switch. The student had to pass a 'Blindfold Cockpit Check" before going solo.
