RE: Tail touch hovering technique
ERRR...I hate to say this but if you really got to have "just the right conditions" to get that low then you might not really want to try it. Touching the tail on the ground is safe if you have complete control over the plane but if you need the right conditions to do it (within reason nobody wants a 35mph breeze) then it could get dangerous. My suggestion is to put in a lot of stick time at 5 - 10 ft. off the deck and make the plane hover exactly where you tell it to hover at. Pick a 10 X 10 area to hover over and hover there, then change the area. The point is that you should have complete control over your plane before trying this. You should be able to articulate the movements of your plane very well in all positions (i.e. top facing you, side facing you, bottom facing you, etc.) then it will just happen.
