RE: Begin-Air Comments
I just got a Begin Air and plan one writing a short review on it. I am hoping to be able to do it this weekend, I have only flown it twice so far and only for a few minutes, so can't really give a fair opinion on it yet. And it is my first aileron plane, so my first flights are of course going to be a bit shakey. I will say that for the fact it is my first aileron plane, I was able to ROG, fly a few circuits, and land it upright without doing any damage. So I believe it is a good choice for a first aileron plane, and at a very good price. I started with a Slo V, so this isn't my first plane, but I wouldn't consider being able to fly a Slo V a fair assesment of one's flying abilities, it is a very forgiving plane since it flies so slow (now, for those of you out there who are doing serious aerobatics with it, THAT is a good assesment of your flying abilities! But I'm not one of you guys...yet). The Begin Air flies faster, and is heavier so has more momentum carrying it forward too. My first impressions are that I am glad I bought it over the other options I looked at, it is a good first aileron plane that seems like it will be able to withstand some abuse. I was able to maiden it without crashing, and managed to do one roll (albeit not intentionally!) without losing control, and I would still consider myself down towards the bottom of the beginners totem poll.
