RE: Jet World Masters Support
I can't believe some of the comments here! Why shouldn't they look for support to go? They're going there for personal reasons sure, but they're going there to support the USA. You think Michael Schumacher doesn't make millions of dollars? They still have sponsorship, why shouldn't these guys? It's not like they're going to Superman just to have fun or show off their birds.
I don't know any of the guys going personally, I don't know if they're millionaires or not, but that doesn't matter to me. I just think it's cool that there are people who want to devote the time and effort it takes to build and fly a world class scale model and go support RC jet modelling period. Every team who flies at world events tries to get sponsorship, not everyone is millionaires.
Schools do fundraising so kids can go on ski trips, well, when I was in school there were kids who were millionaires too and still did the fund raising. The simple answer is, if you don't want to support anything then don't! Nobody held a gun to your head and said click on this link.
Good God, every organization in the world probably does fundraising for what some people would consider "extracurricular" events, maybe RC Jets won't cure cancer, but it's no different than racing cars or motorbikes and all those teams have corporate sponsorship.
If you don't want to contribute then don't, I for one am glad to see representation for the US, and I'm from Canada for crying out loud!
We at RCjet.net are holding a raffle in support of the WJM, I'm donating a large dollar paint finish on a Sniper, why? because I love this hobby and any chance I get to support the best country in the world (my own opinion) in a hobby I love is something I'm going to do!
