RE: Jet World Masters Support
Hmmm...I see your point about not discouraging others, and it is well taken. My comments weren't meant in that vein. Last time I checked though, these were "public" forums and wether we agree or disagree with your thoughts/ideas, we are entitled to present our individual points of view. To turn the leaf, if you don't want to read an opposing opinion, then you should solicit privately not in public forums. Maybe part of the what you interpret to be anti-jet sentiment, is really a bit of envy? That is partly true on my part, I envy the amount of $$ that these guys have to put into their planes and equipment. I hope that someday in the not too distant future that I will be able to get in on the turbine craze...I drool over the new Airworld Mig-21!!!
Part of it is probably perception, a lot of jet jocks are perceived and rich, snobby guys, when this is probably just a really tight fraternity as so much is required to get these babies up in the air and maintain them...also there are limited fields to fly off of so they are more frequently together...again these are just perceptions I'm not saying they are true. Also, it is a common perception that most of these guys have corporate sponsors as well?
I think, jet guys should, instead of complaining about our misperceptions or misunderstandings, you should try to educate us.
By the way Jeremy, you made a very good point about sponsorship and fund raising, but most fund raising for schools etc. is for non-profit organizations...is it not? Seems a little different to me?
