RE: Jet World Masters Support
To all who have shown their support for the team either morally, financially or both THANK YOU so much. I look forward to going to Hungary and doing the best I can to represent the USA. Its been difficult to find practice time lately between work and family and I can feel the pressure as the time nears to leave. Its been a tough haul so far getting everything ready and trying to keep it all together in one piece and I don't just mean the plane. I will try to post more pictures of the progress of the second plane and how my practices are coming along.
Katchmarek, your right its a public forum and everyone has a right to express their opinions. I may or not agree with everyone but at least we have place where we can express our thoughts. As for jet guys being snobs, I don't think they are snobs, the ones I know are some of the nicest people I have met. I have gotten to know many so called jet guys most of them I now call friends. Although being one, I might be a little bias. I know the team has corporate sponsors, but I don't know of any individual having a corporate sponsor. The only direct sponsor I have had from day one has been myself. I think that true of all of the guys on the team. We have all put a tremendous time, effort and money into this project. I have also done what I can to support the team in donations and efforts to raise funds and offers to help other members. I think thats what teams do, help each other to be more than what we can accomplish individually.
As for being rich or wealthy and not needing the support of others, I don't know what everyone's financial position is in life. All I know is its costing a boat load to get there and back, but your right I signed up for the job. I knew what this would cost and had started making plans for it early on, in case I made the team. I personally am ready, but it would be nice to see some support, if not financially, at least morally. I think knowing we have the support will make a difference once we are there. Its you choice to support the team or not. You can show your support morally or financially or both or not at all, nobody is forcing anybody.
As for fund raisers, I think the raffle was a good way of doing things. It gives the general public a way to support the team and a chance to get something out of it also. Its not only the non profits that do fund raisers to raise cash for their goals.
Just my .02 on the matter
