On a fast plane, or a plane that I intend to go fast, this would be an issue. I would re-do the hinges. But since this is a trainer, and the purpose of the plane is not speed, then cleanliness isn't that great of an issue. Sure, it might take a little trim, so what ? It might be so very slight, that you don't even notice it. You can always re-do the hinges later on after you have flown it. But because trainers are slow anyway, this slight defect and the trim required to correct it probably won't cost you even 1 mph. The trainer should fly and perform just fine.
