RE: Ways to practice for IMAC/ Basic maneuvers
Chad,
wgeffon makes some very good suggestions but both of those planes will be hard to do the basic sequences with. It can be done but will require ALLOT of patience and tons and I mean tons of structured practice.
When I mean practice that includes going throught the advanced trimming procedures to properly trim the plane and that alone can take 25 - 50 flights on a plane that is truly designed for IMAC. The key to IMAC is SMOOTHNESS. The track of the plane across the sky is the most important item.
Read the judging guide and attend a judging school. At the schools they will teach you what the judges are looking for then you will actually go and judge someone as well as be judged.
I am not trying to discourage you but IMAC, even in basic requires precision. It all boils down to can you put the plane wherever you want at any time in any wind.
So I gather you now own the Stik you were talking about and have the wing almost done for the 4*40?
