Default RE: 300 LX

Well, I forgot about this thread and I thought it was worth an update since I am VERY happy with my setup. See my still developing review under the "User Product Reviews" forum.

The DA-50 has run flawlessly out of the box, I set the needles as perscribed in the instructions and am 1.5 gallons through my Lawnboy 32:1 mix. Power to spare and easy starts, no problems.

The DS8611's on all the surfaces gives me instant deflection and plenty of power...tight knife edge loops no problem with only one 8611 on the rudder (pinwheels?).

With the carbon fiber wing tube, stab tube and spinner, three 2350mah Li-Ion batteries and Graphtec CF tailwheel assembly (all from Troy Built Models by the way www.troybuiltmodels.com ) I was amazed when this plane came out UNDER 16 pounds. Balances right at 3" back from the leading edge at the wingtips, batteries and receiver in front of the rudder servo which is in the rear hole on the tray. I was sweating the balance, but this is perfect...slow landings, no snapping, hands off inverted and upright flight. I am very happy. [8D]

I wll soon be adding some airfoiled CF SuperGear to lighten it up even more! www.rcsupergear.com is where you can find the products, Brian is working on finishing up the exact replacement Extra gear he is making from some stock Wild Hare aluminum gear...should retail for about $55 or so.

Edit: Here's the prized Extra with my wife and her Raptor 50SE...what a blast!
