Default RE: The land of indecision

If you want the most bang for the buck convert your Echo. I have converted several and have a few more in the works. In my opinion they have the most power. That may be why they are the engine of choice for BME. For the money they want for the already converted ones, you can get a CH electronic ignition, muffler, timing bracket, and prop hub from Ken Lambert www.lambertsrc.com. You could also try www.wackerengines.com. I did a 42cc Poulan with everything as above for less than $250 including $70.00 for the saw. Heck, for what you will have in it you can also get new bearings, rings, gaskets, and seals too. As long as the basic components are good you can rebuild and modify it for way less than any BME, DA, 3-W, etc. I think everyone here will tell you that they run as well and as strong as a "brand" engine. Not slamming the brands. I have a BME 50 and a DA 100. Just that these are fun to do and less $$$. Remember this too, the ignition is basically a one time buy unless you crash it beyond repair.
