Guys I'm really torn.

I have a 45cc Echo blower, runs perfect.
I am thinking seriously about converting it.

There is a guy selling 50cc Homelite converted for RC includes everything.... $250.00

There is a guy selling 46cc Poulan converted for RC includes everything.... $240.00

Both have flywheels and appear to have been done right, especially the Homelite.

Should I convert, or should I buy a conversion. And which conversion should I get?

Will the Echo be the best of the bunch?

What do you think?????

I'm not hung up on the I did it myself thing, but I do like getting the most bang for my buck.

If you want the most bang for the buck convert your Echo. I have converted several and have a few more in the works. In my opinion they have the most power. That may be why they are the engine of choice for BME. For the money they want for the already converted ones, you can get a CH electronic ignition, muffler, timing bracket, and prop hub from Ken Lambert www.lambertsrc.com. You could also try www.wackerengines.com. I did a 42cc Poulan with everything as above for less than $250 including $70.00 for the saw. Heck, for what you will have in it you can also get new bearings, rings, gaskets, and seals too. As long as the basic components are good you can rebuild and modify it for way less than any BME, DA, 3-W, etc. I think everyone here will tell you that they run as well and as strong as a "brand" engine. Not slamming the brands. I have a BME 50 and a DA 100. Just that these are fun to do and less $$$. Remember this too, the ignition is basically a one time buy unless you crash it beyond repair.

How about doing all three and posting the "numbers" for us?

I tore down the Echo last night.
It looks pretty straight forward.
I'll make the mounts from 3/16 aluminum.
The prop adapter... My brother in-law the machinist took off early this morning in their Motorhome. It may be Monday before I see them again.

I'll probably make the muffler my self

I'll keep the group updated.
